How does the company support demanding and/or difficult projects?
-
We enjoy challenges. We typically create a team to manage and support difficult projects. Sometimes the difficulty is simply a short lead time; while other opportunities may require an extraordinary commitment for the design/engineering team, or perhaps scheduling with outside vendors. Not being an ordinary opportunity also means extra time will be spent in project management to ensure a smooth process throughout.

How does Northwood manage long distance warranty issues?
-
From time to time a warranty issue will occur that requires special attention because of distance. Whenever possible, we request photos of issues, and based upon this information, are then able to devise an appropriate response. We frequently work with wood technicians local to the repair site to mitigate costs and maximize response time. For more serious issues such as splitting, checking, or finish degradation, Northwood will send a technician/team to handle any needed repairs. Our job is to assure that the end user experiences a minimum of disruption and inconvenience. Subsequently, Northwood will always work in conjunction with the needs of the end user.

Are hospitality and healthcare markets of interest to Northwood?
-
Yes, each month we have a mix of hospitality and healthcare related work on our schedules. We are frequently engaged with both furniture dealers and general contractors to provide banquettes, dining tables, communal tables, benches, point of sale counters, and related specialty items for restaurants. Northwood has enjoyed extensive experience with the design and fabrication of banquettes, and has included popular designs in our standard product catalog. Our experience with healthcare has typically been for reception units or work surfaces. We are open to all requests, but have not ventured too far in the development of healthcare opportunities.
-
-
Will Northwood sell to a designer or design firm for resale?
-
We will sell to a designer or design/sell company as long as we are not stepping in front of our established office furniture dealers. We frequently work with designers who have close client relationships. Often, these kinds of projects are unique and require close coordination during both the design and installation phases.

-
Does Northwood maintain a showroom(s)?
-
No. In a previous life we did have showrooms in the Chicago Merchandise Mart and at the New York Design Center. Neither of these showrooms could be economically justified over time. It is our experience that our company offices and factory operations create an almost perfect environment for customer introduction and project exploration. Northwood will pay for or contribute to the costs necessary to visit our facility. Please inquire.

Yes, we are always interested in reviewing a resume of anyone who is interested in employment. If you would like to submit your resume, we promise to respond. If we have an immediate opening, we will begin with a telephone conversation.
