First Principles
To be aware of the complexity and beauty of the world we inhabit is part of the experience of living and working in Northern California. The experience is also a lesson in the legacies of human indifference, careless behaviors and consequences. The evidence exists in all places, from the drive to work, to the building in which we work. An integral part of this California experience is the story of native peoples, mass migrations, and diversity. All of these stories are universal and shared. Our obligation is to be aware.
